BTC Medusa is a privacy-preserving fork of Sparrow Wallet. We preserved every line of Sparrow's code and behavior, then added a single new tab — Privacy — where our software scans your UTXOs for exposure. Nothing else changes.

Every Sparrow feature, untouched

Send, receive, coin control, multisig, hardware wallets, Tor, PSBT, labels — all the original Sparrow functionality remains exactly as you know it.

Same open code, forked transparently

We started from Sparrow's source and kept it intact. The diff is small and auditable: our additions live in their own Privacy module, not woven through your wallet's core.

One new tab: Privacy

This is the only thing we added. Open it to scan any UTXO, address, or your whole wallet against 31 privacy heuristics — blind, with nothing leaving your device in the clear.

Heads up: macOS will warn you on first launch

We're an independent project without a paid Apple Developer signing certificate yet, so macOS won't recognize the publisher and will say the app "can't be verified" or push you to Move to Trash. The app is safe — this is just Apple's gate for unsigned software. Here's the 30-second way around it.

Install in under a minute

From download to first scan.

Download & open

Open BTC Medusa-2.5.2.dmg and drag the app into your Applications folder.

Launch

On first run, right-click the app and choose Open to approve it in macOS Gatekeeper.

Load your wallet

Open or import your wallet exactly as you would in Sparrow. Watch-only and hardware wallets work the same.

Open Privacy

Click the new Privacy tab and run your first blind scan. Every other tab works just like Sparrow.
